The kuffa and nibbi are natural rain forest vegetation that replenish themselves very quickly. The vines are believed to be able to regrow to their original sizes within five months of being cut. Selective harvesting is practiced which means that apart from under-bushing to allow the harvesters through the vegetation, the rest of the forest remains untouched.
