L-Mart's commitment is not only to meet but to exceed compliance levels of federal, state and local environment practices on their own plantations and in addition to promote these practices among their suppliers and throughout the domestic, regional and international wicker furniture industry.

Previous sections have already alluded to the system of selective harvesting which is consistent with protecting the environment. The location of the factory outside of Georgetown is also very positive in avoiding congestion. The waste from the poles and vines serves as part of the wood fuel for the steamer; hence there is no waste disposal problem.
